2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain Napa Valley |
||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() This Cabernet is grown in one of the most beautiful places on earth! Howell Mountain is Napa's oldest AVA. The region is composed of 14,000 acres of rugged and mountainous terrain all above 1,400 foot elevation. It is located in the Vaca Mountain range just east of St. Helena. The region is well known for producing magnificent, elegant and robust wines. The growing conditions are perfect for bordeaux varieties, where Cabernet is King and that may be largely due to the elevation. The climate here is characterized by moderate temperatures that are cooler than in most other parts of the valley. The soil in this ava is older, well-drained volcanic rock. Vines have very deep roots and struggle with low vigor, producing intense flavors, dark color and very ripe fruit. Our vines are grown on the Ink Grade Vineyard that is owned and farmed by the Heitz Family. We are sharing our rows next to very famous Napa Valley Wineries, and are thrilled to share this gorgeous wine with you! |
